E C Power Systems & Bales Thriftway Support Loaves & Fishes

On Tuesday, November 22nd, E C Power Systems President Jim Bock took to the streets (of sorts) to raise money for Loaves & Fishes. Jim and his wife Vicki helped to raise enough funds for nearly 300 meals in a few hours time at Bales Market Place & Thriftway in Beaverton, Oregon. Donations were made as an "add-on" to customers grocery bills during the fundraising event, along with a number of cash donations.

Since 1970 Loaves & Fishes Centers has provided a nutritional and social lifeline for seniors through 34 meal sites in Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties, and Meals-On-Wheels delivery to more than 2,700 homebound seniors in Oregon and SW Washington. With the help of more than 8,200 volunteers, the nonprofit, secular organization now serves 5,000 meals daily and more than 1.4 million meals each year. Loaves & Fishes is unique in that it can guarantee a meal will be delivered within 24 hours – no waiting list, and the meal is delivered in person!
